Join us on May 13th on Governors Island for the maiden run of the New York Harbor Oyster Classic 5k to benefit the New York Harbor School.


Our first annual New York Harbor Oyster Classic 5K was a great success. Despite the very wet weather,

we made good on our promise of a nice race route with spectacular views.

Governors Island is accessible by boat only.


The ferry will depart the Governors Island

Ferry Terminal/Battery Maritime Building,

10 South Street, NY, NY (adjacent to the

Staten Island Ferry Terminal) at 8 a.m. sharp.

Runners MUST be on this ferry.


 Runners will need their Oyster Classic bib

 to get aboard, and all spectators

will need their NYHOC '17 bracelets.

The race will start at 9 a.m..


On the island, just off the ferry, you'll find

directions to the NY Harbor School, which is the

 site of the start/finish. Bag check and toilets

will be available in the same area.


Water tables with cups will be available at the

start and the finish areas. Bring a water bottle

with you to fill up at the island's water

filling stations along the course.


We’ll meet you and your spectators at

the finish line with bagels and fresh fruit.


The Oyster Classic 5K is rain or shine

and we are unable to offer registration refunds.

The ferry operates between the Battery Maritime Building

 in Lower Manhattan and Soissons Dock on Governors

 Island.  The trip is approximately 8 minutes in duration.


The Battery Maritime Building is accessible by

the New York City subway: 1 Train to South Ferry,

the R Train train to Whitehall/South Ferry,

or the 4 or 5 Trains to Bowling Green.


New York City bus service to Lower Manhattan

includes: M5, M20, M15, BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4.
